Fairmont Hotels & Resorts opened its first Japanese property Tuesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Fairmont Tokyo, marking the luxury brand's entry into the Japanese market.

The 217-room hotel occupies floors 35-43 of the newly developed Blue Front Shibaura Tower South in Tokyo's Shibaura district. The property is located 13 minutes from Haneda Airport and six minutes from Tokyo and Shinagawa stations.

Fairmont Tokyo features seven dining venues, including Kiln & Tonic, which serves wood-fired pizzas and grilled seafood on the 35th floor, and Vue Mer, which offers French-Japanese cafe culture with afternoon tea and cocktails. The hotel also houses traditional sushi restaurant Migiwa and teppanyaki venue Totsuji, as well as Driftwood, which specializes in Yoshoku cuisine.

The property includes a 24-hour fitness center with Technogym equipment, a 20-meter indoor infinity pool and spa facilities on the 35th floor. Guestrooms are located on floors 36-42, each featuring floor-to-ceiling windows. BAR Studio designed the hotel's interiors, incorporating artwork inspired by traditional Japanese techniques including Kintsugi and weaving. The property includes 29 suites among its 217 rooms.

"The opening of Fairmont Tokyo marks a major milestone as we proudly bring the Fairmont brand to Japan for the first time," said Omer Acar, chief executive officer of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.

Fairmont Tokyo is part of Accor's luxury portfolio. The brand currently operates 11 properties across Asia, including hotels in Singapore, Jakarta, Manila, Seoul and seven locations in China.

Fairmont Tokyo also offers Fairmont Gold, a hotel-within-a-hotel concept that provides private check-in, lounge access and personalized services for premium guests.
