The Dominican Republic continues to be one of the Caribbean’s top tourism hot spots. To meet this ever-growing demand, major hotel brands — from Club Med to W Hotels, The St. Regis, Marriott Bonvoy and more — have debuted new and reinvented resorts catering to every type of traveler.
Here are 10 recently opened properties to start recommending to clients.
Club Med Punta Cana
One of Club Med’s top properties in undergoing a transformative renovation that’s expected to wrap up this fall. The refresh of the all-inclusive Club Med Punta Cana is adding dining experiences, new social areas and updated accommodations, all designed by GG&Grace International.
Newly renovated Costa Del Coco Deluxe Rooms will offer private balconies and spa-style bathrooms with rain showers to reflect the beauty and tranquility of the Dominican Republic’s coastline. Other significant updates include The Buena Vista Lounge; The El Mundo Food Club, offering five distinct concepts ranging from elegant French cuisine to a grill experience; updates to the poolside Joia Bar; and a new Coffee Shop.
Secrets and Dreams Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa
Hyatt Inclusive Collection opened the adults-only Secrets Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa this past August, followed by family-friendly sister property Dreams Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa in September. Both resorts are set on a secluded stretch of the island’s northeastern coast in the Miches region.
The 500-suite Secrets’ design combines a mix of textures and colors inspired by the Caribbean’s diverse landscape. The property offers 11 dining venues and seven bars, including signature restaurant Dona Altagracia, that pays tribute to traditional Dominican culinary experiences in a modern way.

Guests can upgrade to the Preferred Club for an enhanced trip with access to dedicated butler service, an exclusive lounge and pool and in-room amenities.
The Dreams resort, meanwhile, is home to another 500 guestrooms and suites, with some offering direct swim-out access.
The property’s dining experience is led by executive chef Carlos Quijano, and spans 10 restaurants and seven bars. A few of the culinary highlights include Tierra, presenting South American dishes; El Patio, serving a la carte Mexican dishes; and 1844 Dominican Cuisine, paying homage to the Dominican’s traditional specialties.
Clients will also find a multitude of family-friendly activities, including the Explorer’s Club for kids ages 3-12, and the Core Zone Teens Club for ages 13-17. Kids can splash around in the on-site waterpark while adults can indulge in relaxation at the Secrets Spa.
A shared “Public Square” connects the Dreams and Secrets resorts, and adults staying at either property have full access to both sets of amenities. Both properties are also partnering with Promiches, a local organization focusing on sustainability. In this joint effort, Secrets and Dreams feature an installation to protect sea turtle nesting areas along the beachfront.
Fiesta Americana Funeeq Punta Cana
Also expected to open this fall is Fiesta Americana Funeeq Punta Cana, the first resort outside of Mexico for the brand (part of Grupo Posadas). Set on Uvero Alto Beach, the 498-room property is designed to welcome all types of travelers — from families to couples and business groups.
Guests can spend their day at the on-site water park, three pools, the bowling center or catch a show at the theater. Little ones can take part in fun activities at the dedicated kids’ club, while adults can kick back and relax at the spa. When hunger hits, the resort has a range of food available at 10 different restaurants, from an upscale steakhouse to a grab-and-go taco stand.
Zel Punta Cana
A touch of the Mediterranean lifestyle has been brought to the Caribbean with the grand opening of the AAA Four-Diamond Zel Punta Cana, which was celebrated in March (though the property officially debuted in December 2024).
This is the first property from the Melia Hotels International collaboration with iconic athlete Rafael Nadal to be built in the Caribbean, and it is located just a short walk from Bavaro Beach. The all-suite resort offers 190 accommodations, including Master Suites and swim-up suites with private gardens. The resort’s design is inspired by the Mediterranean, providing guests with the chance to connect in luxurious outdoor spaces or relax on the beachfront.
Culinary offerings include wood-fired dishes at Volcan, Japanese-meets-Mediterranean fare at Nokyo, locally inspired cuisine at the all-day dining and beach club Parda and more. The on-site Zel Club features weekly programming for guests to get involved in group fitness activities and exclusive classes centered around Pilates, running sessions and yoga. The Club also hosts weekend retreats, seasonal festivals and day parties.
JdV by Hyatt Debut: Royal Beach Hotel Punta Cana
Hyatt Hotels Corporation, in collaboration with Grupo Martinon, opened Royal Beach Hotel Punta Cana this past July. The hotel is situated approximately 25 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport, located in the El Cortecito neighborhood near Bavaro.

Guests can also purchase all-inclusive day passes to neighboring Hyatt Inclusive Collection resorts: Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana (for $60) and Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana for $50. These day passes provide access to Los Corales Beach, tennis and pickleball courts, restaurants, bars and more.
The St. Regis Cap Cana Resort
The St. Regis Cap Cana Resort opened its doors on May 1, debuting as the brand’s first property in the Dominican Republic. The resort is located within Cap Cana’s private enclave along one of the island’s longest white-sand beaches. The 200-room resort is designed to combine St. Regis’ century-old sophistication and detail with Dominican culture and hospitality; the interior, for example, is accented by local artisans’ touches, inspired by the Dominican “faceless doll” as a symbol of inclusivity and unity.

Among the other featured venues are Marola Mediterranean Grill, Kawa Coffee Shop and Carey Bay beach bar.
Additional amenities at the resorts include four swimming pools, a Children’s and Teens’ Club and access to the nearby Punta Espada Golf Course. Guests can also enjoy The Amber Room cigar bar, and The St. Regis Spa, which specializes in treatments rooted in local ingredients.
Marriott Miches Beach, An All-Inclusive Resort
Marriott Miches Beach, An All-Inclusive Resort, launched earlier this year as a renovated rebrand of the Sunrise Miches Beach Resort. The brand’s first all-inclusive property in the Caribbean sits oceanfront in the Miches along a nearly four-mile stretch of golden-sand beach. Some of the renovations include revamped interiors and new culinary options.
The property features four on-site restaurants, three bar venues, two pools, a spa and a fitness center. Additional highlights include a seven-room event space fully equipped for celebrations or business needs.

W Punta Cana, Adult All-Inclusive
Marriott is on a roll this year, with another exciting debut in the D.R.: W Punta Cana, Adult All-Inclusive, which opened Aug. 19 and marks the brand’s first adults-only, all-inclusive resort. The 340-room property channels an elevated all-inclusive experience, perfect for a secluded beachfront escape. Rooms start at 700 square feet, all featuring a king bed and a bathtub. There are also 46 suites that offer swim-up access, along with a selection that features full-size private pools.

There is also a multitude of lounge experiences, ranging from the Taproom, a modern microbrewery, to social hub Taman Beach Club and the secret 33 1/3 Speakeasy, a music-focused hideaway. Guests can indulge in serene wellness options, including the Away Spa, with 10 treatment rooms, a sauna and a full-service salon.
Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana All Inclusive Resort
Playa Hotels & Resorts hosted the grand opening of Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana All Inclusive Resort on March 10. Built on Uvero Alto Beach, the resort features 620 updated rooms and suites, one of the largest freeform pools in the Caribbean, a fitness center, a full-service spa and a kids’ club. Families can visit the on-site Splash Island Water Park and float in a lazy river or venture down one of four waterslides. After a day in the sun, kids can grab a snack at the Splash Bites food truck.
The resort serves all different types of cuisine across its 20 restaurants and bars. After dinner, guests can slip away into the Twisted Olive and enjoy daily live entertainment paired with a refreshing cocktail. Rooms offer furnished patios, complimentary Wi-Fi and daily restocked minibars. The resort’s decor pays tribute to Caribbean colonial heritage with green, blue and pink accents.
