The festive season is a rewarding time to travel in many parts of the world, and the Caribbean is no exception. With its diverse array of festivals, music, food and other traditions — not to mention lots of stunning beachfront settings — the region offers countless opportunities to infuse an island vacation with holiday cheer.
Celebrations begin just after Thanksgiving in Puerto Rico, for example, and stretch until January, with events including Three Kings Day on Jan. 6, 2026, and the San Sebastian street festival in San Juan on the third weekend in January. Parrandas (Christmas caroling) and traditional cuisine are among the season’s pleasures, and travelers can pair holiday experiences with a luxurious stay at Condado Vanderbilt, which will host a glamorous New Year’s Eve celebration with live music and other entertainment.
In the Dominican Republic, travelers can also indulge in an upscale holiday at Amanera, where seasonal holiday menus are featured from Dec. 20, 2025, until Jan. 3, 2026, and guided mindfulness sessions help guests set intentions for the new year.
Also offering a luxurious holiday setting is Four Seasons Resort Nevis, West Indies, where celebrity chef Rocco DiSpirito is heading a three-day Thanksgiving residency, with restaurant takeovers from Nov. 25-28, 2025, and an interactive cooking demonstration and special lunch on Nov. 26. The hotel also hosts special dinners for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, cake and cookie decorating sessions, and visits by Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Visitors can enjoy lots of music, dance, food and parties during traditional carnival celebrations in St. Kitts.

Farther south, Hilton Barbados Resort will host activities including multiple holiday brunches, a Christmas Eve dinner and a five-course New Year’s Eve dinner and party.
Those looking for a fully customizable holiday experience, meanwhile, may want to consider Altamer, a collection of beachfront villas in Anguilla, where the concierge team can arrange everything from private Thanksgiving dinners and in-villa Christmas decorations to private visits from Santa Claus and catered New Year’s Eve parties.
Festive Family Activities and Celebrations
There are plenty of family-friendly hotels around the Caribbean, and many offer holiday-themed activities designed to please all ages. Beaches Resorts, for example, is partnering with The Elf on the Shelf for the festive season at its properties in Jamaica and Turks and Caicos, beginning in late November. Grown-ups and kids alike can partake in parties, outdoor movie nights and other diversions, and children staying in butler suites can also sign up for special turndown services. In addition, guests can also share the holiday spirit by supporting the Sandals Foundation, the nonprofit organization affiliated with Beaches that provides thousands of toys to children across the Caribbean.

Events include a parade with traditional costumes and music, a craft market and a traditional Christmas dinner. A weeklong program of activities is also scheduled to ring in the new year, with a poolside cocktail party and a Great Gatsby-themed dinner party followed by an after-party with live music and fireworks.
Also ideal for families is Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino, where events include a Thanksgiving dinner complete with a DJ and photo booth. Throughout December, adults can sip holiday-inspired cocktails while guests of all ages can join activities such as gingerbread house-building and cupcake and cookie decorating. For New Year’s Eve, a four-course dinner is scheduled, complemented by live entertainment, party favors and beach fireworks.
Fireworks will also fill the skies on New Year’s Eve in Nassau, the Bahamas. Vacationers will have an especially good view when staying at Margaritaville Beach Resort, which will transform its boardwalk into a “party zone” with live music, special menus and fireworks.
Also worth considering for New Year’s Eve is St. Barts, where yachts in the harbor will blow their horns simultaneously at the stroke of midnight; the British Virgin Islands, where Oil Nut Bay stages a six-course dinner accompanied by live entertainment and fire dancers; and Grenada, where Six Senses La Sagesse hosts a beachfront New Year’s Eve party, followed by a New Year’s Day brunch.
Live entertainment is an especially big draw at Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve Puerto Rico, where two live concerts will take place simultaneously for New Year’s Eve.
