Rebrandings always pique my curiosity, so I was especially excited about visiting Hilton Cancun Mar Caribe All-Inclusive Resort, a recently refreshed property in the heart of the Cancun Hotel Zone.
About two years ago, I checked into the same hotel when it was called Royal Uno All Inclusive Resort & Spa. During my latest visit, I was pleased to discover that this beachfront resort has improved upon what was already a good thing.
The hotel’s prime location is one of the first and most obvious selling points; it’s an easy commute from Cancun International Airport.
What struck me upon arrival, however, was the overall style. With a variety of restaurants and modern guestrooms, the hotel is eye-catching, featuring lots of warm wood tones and clean, contemporary lines. The lobby is especially inviting, offering a large bar and lounge area.
Check-in set the tone for my smooth and enjoyable stay. I was booked in a room in the Enclave category, which provides access to a separate check-in area complete with its own bar and private lounge stocked with snacks and drinks. (That lounge became one of my favorite go-to places for refreshments throughout my visit.)
This served as an excellent introduction for me to the Enclave concept. Hilton’s premium tier, which is only available at a few resorts, adds an extra layer of exclusivity, with upgraded amenities and spaces that include a dedicated pool area, beachfront rooms with elevated minibar items, a welcome amenity (in my case, an excellent cheese board and bottle of wine) and a one-time hydrotherapy session for two at the spa.
The hotel blends modern design, diverse dining and family-friendly amenities on a prime stretch of beachfront.

A rooftop oasis with four small pools, an outdoor bar and food service, the venue is a standout spot for sunbathing as well as sunset cocktails — and after dark, the space hosts live entertainment.
Dining Options
One of the highlights of my stay at Hilton Cancun Mar Caribe was the diverse culinary lineup. I enjoyed a thick filet mignon at Flama, the resort’s steakhouse, which is located in a space occupied by a bar in the hotel’s previous incarnation. It’s now a sleek, upscale venue with a menu to match. Noriku, the pan-Asian eatery, also offers delicious dishes as well as live entertainment for those who book seats at one of the teppanyaki tables. La Luce, the Italian option, rounds out the trio of a la carte dinner spots that offer sophisticated menus in addition to prime locations for viewing the sunset.
I also savored a delicious dinner at Maxal, the Mexican restaurant, which offers a contemporary take on traditional dishes, with attractive presentations and a relaxed, colorful ambience.
Reservations at these venues are recommended for dinner and can be made via a QR code linked to guest wristbands or through reception or concierge. Walk-ins may find a table, but planning ahead is the best bet.
For breakfast and lunch, I regularly headed to Vela, which features an extensive international buffet for both meals, and switches gears for dinner with a Brazilian steakhouse-style menu.
Room service is included, but I enjoyed dining at the various restaurants so much that I never even tried it. Another personal favorite: Azulinda Cafe, which operates around the clock and offers everything from light meals to ice cream.
Additional Hotel Features
Family-friendliness is one of the defining features of Hilton Cancun Mar Caribe. Throughout my stay, I witnessed countless kids with smiles on their faces. The waterpark and multiple pools were in constant use, and the entertainment schedule kept families engaged well into the evenings. The children’s club, for ages four to 12, offers lots of supervised activities at its indoor and outdoor play areas, while the Sandbar Social space is for teens but doubles as a casual hangout for entire families, with activities such as video games, pingpong and foosball.

Details such as perfectly positioned bedside reading lamps, ample charging outlets, automated night lights and a dual-purpose sofa-table setup (perfect for working and snacking) all helped to improve my experience. The bathroom featured both a large shower, a deep soaking tub and amenities that include extra items like sunscreen and insect repellent.
I also appreciated the resort’s wellness offerings; I visited the well-equipped fitness center every day. but what I really enjoyed was The Spa, a sanctuary of calm centered around a lovely relaxation lounge; the refreshed facilities and revamped treatment menu are even better than before.
Additional enhancements following the Hilton rebrand are noticeable throughout the resort: upgraded cabanas, new poolside hammocks, refreshed room decor and more cohesive signage. What had once been a timeshare sales office is now an event and meeting space with beautiful views — a great new option for anyone planning a celebration or group get-together.
