Following Norwegian Cruise Line’s (NCL) Norwegian Aqua — and now open for sale — is Norwegian Luna, which is scheduled to set sail April 4, 2026, for its inaugural Caribbean season from Miami.
Like its twin sister ship, Luna will be a 10% larger Prima Plus Class ship, building upon the earlier designs of Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva. The vessel will measure in at 1,056 feet long and 156,300 gross tons, with an approximate double occupancy guest capacity of 3,550.
“Inspired by the relationship between the moon and the tides of the ocean, we are excited to introduce Norwegian Luna as the vessel that perfectly complements her sister ship, Norwegian Aqua,” said David J. Herrera, president of Norwegian Cruise Line. “The debut of Norwegian Luna truly showcases our ongoing commitment to providing guests more of what they enjoy and value — a brand-new ship with the latest innovative offerings sailing to the beautiful, tropical destinations of the Caribbean.”
To reflect its theme, the ship’s “La Luna” hull art will be designed by Napa, California-based street artist ELLE. “The artwork is a visual exploration of humanity’s deep-rooted connection with the celestial forces in space as human beings are intrinsically linked to the ebb and flow of the moon,” according to the line.

As on Aqua, Luna will feature its own NCL-exclusive Aqua Slidecoaster — a hybrid between a waterslide and a roller coaster — set to become the longest and fastest slides at sea, per the brand. The triple-decker dual racing slides will begin with a magnetic lift to the top of two differing descents that will swiftly snake around the ship’s smokestack. The Drop, a 10-story, free-fall dry slide, will also be reprised onboard.
The upper levels of the ship will feature another Glow Court, a digital sports complex that becomes an outdoor nightclub in the evenings, as well as the Stadium, full of more complimentary alfresco activities. Plus, the 46,000-square-foot wraparound promenade of Ocean Boulevard will return, as will scenic Infinity Beach, an upper pool deck with day beds and the adults-only Vibe Beach Club outdoor lounge.
Accommodations
For sleeping off a mix of relaxed and adrenaline-infused exertions, Norwegian Luna will showcase another of the line’s The Haven by Norwegian ship-within-a-ship complexes. The Haven features top-tier suites with exclusive access to shared venues including a sundeck, an infinity pool, two hot tubs, an outdoor spa with a sauna and a cold room, and a dedicated lounge and bar.
Leading the amenities will be new Three-Bedroom Duplex Haven Suites. The two-level accommodations will encompass separate living and dining spaces, three bedrooms, three bathrooms and a private balcony catered to by 24-hour butler service and a dedicated concierge team.

Guest favorites from the ship series that will again be along for the ride include Indulge Food Hall with its 10 varied stations, including the new plant-based Planterie; Cagney’s Steakhouse; Le Bistro for French cuisine; and Onda by Scarpetta for Italian. The line’s fresh Thai venue, Sukhothai, will also carry over from Aqua.
Other bar and lounge options will be the popular Whiskey Bar, the Belvedere Bar and Metropolitan, home to NCL’s applauded Sail & Sustain cocktails.
Entertainment
Headlining shows set to make their debut in the Luna Theater & Club will be “Rocket Man: A Celebration of Elton John” and “Hiko: Innovation Meets Wonder.” Both shows were developed in-house by Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings’ Creative Studios.
“Rocket Man” will be a concert-style production that brings to life hit songs such as “Tiny Dancer,” “Bennie and the Jets,” “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” and, of course, “Rocket Man.” Meanwhile, “Hiko” is described as an original sci-fi show that mixes Cirque-like acrobatics and a dedicated character with “mixed reality visuals."
Clients with kids will want to check out “Sea of Discovery! An Under-the-Sea Festival,” an interactive romp of creativity and curiosity. For adults only, “LunaTique” will be put on at The Improv at Sea venue. According to the line, the latter is “inspired by the thrill, sparkle and nonstop energy of Las Vegas nightlife.” The after-hours experience will include neon details, signature cocktails, character-drive performances and more.
Meanwhile, guest-favorite Syd Norman’s Pour House will be along for the ride, this time with a tribute to the Eagles, plus two new themed deck parties: Island Nights and Latin Live! Then, in the Luna Theater & Club, clients can have a transformative nightclub experience at the glowing Norwegian Luna Eclipse Party and “Planetdisco,” a “high-energy disco celebration,” according to the line.
Luna Itineraries

Eastern routes will then comprise seven-day voyages to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; Tortola, British Virgin Islands; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; and Great Stirrup Cay, the line’s other private island in the Bahamas, which is set to tout a new docking pier come late 2025.
