Following the announcement of two new riverboats set to debut for 2026, luxury river cruise line Tauck has recently confirmed that another two will join the fleet in 2027. The additions will include one vessel in France, boosting its regional presence by 50%, and another in Spain, nearly doubling its capacity in the region.
Driven by strong passenger demand, the four-ship expansion over the two years marks the largest growth spurt in in the line’s river cruise history.
“The enthusiasm for our river cruising experiences has been extraordinary,” said Jennifer Tombaugh, CEO of Tauck. “Guests appreciate the intimate atmosphere fostered by our ‘small is big’ philosophy, particularly in high-demand destinations like the Douro and France, where space is naturally limited. These new riverboats will enable us to host more guests in these beloved regions, while continuing to deliver the personalized, exceptional experience that is the hallmark of Tauck river cruising.”

Shared Features
Both new riverboats will feature resort-like sun decks with swimming pools and bars, atriums crowned by skylights and scenic lounges. More than 75% of their cabins will measure 225 square feet or larger, thanks to 300-square-foot Category 5 Tauck Suites on the upper Diamond Deck. These suites will showcase double French balconies, walk-in closets, separate seating areas and king-size beds positioned toward the views.
Like the rest of Tauck’s fleet, fares remain all-inclusive, covering every shore excursion, gratuities, onboard beverages (including premium wines, beers and spirits), airport transfers, luggage handling, taxes and fees
On the Seine
The new Seine riverboat — ms Reverie — will follow the design of the line’s 2026-launching ms Serene, including Arthur’s, the line’s casual dining venue. A new addition will be The Retreat, a wellness-focused space on the upper Diamond Deck. According to Tauck, it will feature “an expanded and innovative wellness area with abundant natural light and river views through full floor-to-ceiling windows, including a fitness center, a massage treatment room and a comfortable lounging area with coffee, juice and a snack bar.”
On the Douro
Tauck’s new Douro riverboat— ms Saudade — will be a sister ship to the brand’s existing Andorinha, already sailing the region. Like its predecessor, it will include Arthur's dining venue with panoramic vistas at the stern, as well as hydraulic systems designed to navigate the Douro’s local lock system.
“Every detail on these new ships has been designed to elevate the guest experience while cruising along two of Europe's most storied rivers,” Tombaugh said.“With our incredible team on the river and onshore, guests feel the Tauck difference in every thoughtful detail and seamless moment, creating travel experiences that become the stories that stay with them long after they've returned home.”
