Fjolvar was believed to be a jotunn, a supernatural giant in Norse mythology. He is mentioned in the poem “H rbardsljod” from the Poetic Edda. Fjolvar spent time training and fighting with Odin, god of wisdom and warfare, on the island of Algroen.
